Notas sobre reptiles ibéricos. III. Estudio preliminar sobre biometría y distribución de Elaphe longissima (Laur. 1768) en la Península Ibérica (Reptilia, Colubridae)

Abstract

In this first notice, there is a description of seven-teen specimens of the Elaphe longissima
Laur. 1768 from Catalonia and the Vasc Country, that along with other sites of the same species denote its actual distribution in thc N.E. of the Iberian Peninsula.
From the biometrical data it has been possible to obtain a certain number of relating index which reflect an obvious biometrical relationship. At the same time, it gives a few considerations as to the biotops in which the specimens have been found, in Catalonia as well as in the Vasc Country, and also considers the dispersion area of the species in the Iberian Peninsula.
