Abstract

In the present article, general considerations on recent bibliography and on the authors that have dealt with Trechisibus Motschulsky are given (Jeannel, Ueno, Schweiger, Bonniard, NBgre and Mateu). Next the main physiographic characteristics of the Andine “puna”. are briefly described, the characteristics that determine in a large measure the “mosaic-shape” distribution of the large range of species of this genus, settled on the Andine Chain. On the journey made by the authors in 1977 to central and southern Perú 10 species of Trechisibus were found. Two of them pertain to the Trechisibus. str. suggenus, T. pascoensis Mateu and T. bordoni Mateu, described in the Veneuelan Entom. SOC. Bull. in 1978 (the T. bordoni does not appear on the present list); the rest pertain to the Trechisibiodes Ueno subgenus, six of them completely new to Science: T. alticola, T. arduus, T. fenuitarsis, T. inca, T. liberafrix and T. pierrei, are described in the present article.
