Abstract

The discovery of a new genus and species from Souht Australia and three new species of the Pacific genus Pronus Lea, Xyletobius Sharp and Holcobius Sharp enables the autor to discuss its generic characters, its systematic position and its geographical distribution. Descriptions are given for Pronus leai sp. n., Pseudopronus matthewsi gen. n., sp. n., Xyletobius kuscheli sp. n. and Holcobius watti sp. n.
