Abstract

Spatial behaviour of the dog Podenco Ibérico-Andaluz (Canis familiaris)
The spatial behaviour of a pack of 13 dogs (5 females and 8 males) Podenco Ibérico-Andaluz (Canis familiaris) was studied, in a 1100 m2 enclosure near Corduva (Spain). The individual spatial organization of the pack was analized by means of the smallest distance between neighbours. Frequency distributions were calculated with which it was proved that the spatial distnbution of the pack, is of the contagious type with different degrees of aggregation. The composition and number of interindividual aggregations was established. The pack can be divided in male groups. The female associated separately to male groups.
