Comments on some Pleuronectiformes (Pisces, Teleostei) new or of uncertain presence in the western Mediterranean.
The presence of Synaptura lusitanica, Solea azevia and Symphums ligulatus in the Catalan coasts is discussed. The capture of two specimens of Synaptura lusitanica confirms the presence of this species in the Westem Mediterranean. The capture of one specimen of Solea azevia in Rosas (Gerona), with the addition of previous records, suggests that this species can be found in the whole of the Spanish Mediterranean. The Mediterranean distribution of Symphunrs ligulatus is determined, and the occurrence of Zeugopteius punctatus in western Mediterranean is confirmed.
