Vanability in the external morphology of the eggs of Larus cachinnans in the Medes islands (Catalan coast)
The external morphology of the eggs of Larus cachinnans has been tested by an indirect method, to find out if it is characteristics of each female. The results are negative, and the external morphology of the eggs is heterogeneous along the different types of vegetal associations that cover the breeding area. It is concluded that there is an important environmental component in the variation of the external morphology of the eggs.
