Abstract

Breeding birds in the parks of Barcelona
Breeding birds in seven parks of Barcelona (Spain) were censused from 1986 to 1989. Relationships between avian densities and tree composition, garden size, situation in the city and uses of these parks are discussed. Statistical analysis shows the influence of the artificiality degree of parks (presence of exotic plant species and non natural elements) on the diversity and composition of the breeding bird communities.
