Microhabitat of the copepod Enteropsis roscoffensis in the ascidian Dendrodoa grossularia
The presence of the copepod Enteropsis roscoffensis (Cyclopodia, Ascidicolidae) is observed in specimens of the ascidian Dendrodoa grossularia (Stolidobranchiata, Styelidae). Each host presents only one E. roscoffensis adult female, and of these, only one carries egg sacs. The site of the copepods in the host body is not always the same; they are present in and out of the digestive tract. Therefore, E. roscoffensis does not have an exclusive nourishing habit. The non-migration of the adult females is established through the host oesophagus.
