Estimaciones sobre la selección del medio y el nivel de actividad del tapir (Tapirus terrestris) en la reserva ecológica El Bagual (Formosa, Argentina)

Estimates o f tapir (Tapirus terrestris) habitar selection and activity level at El Bagual Ecological Reserve (Formosa, Argerrtina)
Tapir activity levels were estimated by track counts on four different plant communities from December 1989 to November 1990. An activity index (number of trackslday) was applied from repetitive readings of 56 track plots (3 m²). Variantes of the four habitat types were homogeneous and no differences in the cover type selected were found. Monthly and seasonal activity pattems showed no differences either.
