Abstract

Study o f seasonal variation in the Collembola fauna from high mountain soils in Sierra de Guadarrama (Madrid)
A study about the composition, structure and seasonal variation of Collembola populations from a high mountain region in the Sierra de Guadarrama (Madrid) has been carried out. Samples from vegetation dominated by Cytisus oromediterraneus and common juniper (Juniperus communis ssp. nana) have been studied. Some cuantitative methods such as diversity and richness indexes, and morever a Cluster and Factorial Correspondence Analysis are used. The relationship between the different species of Collembola and the habitat where they live, and the behaviour of populations in each type of brushwood, is presente
