Abstract

Variation in jlock size and jlock type of Great bustard (Otis tarda) according to habitat
The variation in flock size and flock type according to habitat in a Great bustard (Otis tarda) population in Northwest Spain is analyzed. Size and flock type differ significantly according to habitat, the largest flocks, generally mixed flocks and male flocks, occurrying in alfalfa, and the smallest in edge tracks, with a predominance of solitary females. Flock size is maximum in alfalfa throughout the entire year except in sumrner, when the maximum size is in pasture.
