This is a brief note on the finding of Lophotus lacepedei Giorna, 1809 in the spanish coasts and so, this is the first record of this species for the area. Thii paper will be followed by some others in which will be exhaustively explained and commented the biometrical and meristic characters and also some histologic studies on the gonadal development
