Resumen

Conservation effects on the morphometry of Acestrorhynchus lacustris (Reinhardt, 1874) (Pisces, Characidae)
The effects of conservation on the lenght, weight and condition of 34 individuals of Acestrorhytzchus lacustris is studied. The average values of morphometrical indexes up to a maximum of 40 days of conservation are registered. The weight of the individuals increases once they begin to be treated until the 6 th day when the maximum value is reached about (10% of the original weight). They lose about 2% of their lenght in the first ten days. Factor K is affected in much the same way as the weight. It is suggested that certain conversion factors should be calculated so as to enable transformation of average morphometrical indexes of fish in conservation to live values.
