Nueva colonia de avión zapador (Riparia riparia) en Cataluña

Resumen

New colony of Sand Martin (Riparia riparia) in Catalonia.
A new colony of Sand martin is described in the basin of the Segre river, in the municipality of Sanavastre (Baixa Cerdanya), at a height of 1,050 m above the sea level. This is the highest altitude colony reported to date in Europe and Catalonia. An association between the distribution of alluvial deposits and the location of nesting colonies of this species is apparent.
