Resumen

Distribution of small mammmals (Insectivora and Rodentia) in Navarra
The distribution of insectivores and rodents in Navarra is reviewed. New reports together with locations cited in the literature are given. The real distribution of most of the 27 species of small marnmals found in Navarra, is shown. According to the climatic characteristics of the area studied, the northem part is occupied by species with centroeuropean environmental requeriments (T. europea, S minutus, S. coronatus, N. fodiens, Cl. glareolus, M. agrestis, and M. pyrenaicus), while the southern part is occupied by species with mediterranean requeriments (S. etruscus, M. spretus and M. duodecimcostatus). A third group includes species with greater environmental tolerance or anthropic dependence, which are distributed throughout the area (N. anomalus, C. russula, A. sylvaticus, R. rattus, R. norvegicus, M. musculus, and A. sapidus). Finally a fourth group is formed by species with particular requeriments in their natural area of distribution (G. pyrenaicus, C. suaveolens, G. glis, E. quercinus, M. minutus, A. flavicollis, A. terrestris, M. nivalis, M. arvalis and M. lusitanicus).
