PDFResum
This paper is a contribution to knowledge of moss inhabiting nematofauna of isle of
Hierro (Canary Islands). Studied biotope is the moss mass living in laurisylva (laurel forest, the authocton ancient wood). The nematofauna is similar, in general outlines, to the whetevergreen wood biotope in mediterranean region. The dominant species in the whole of the nematofauna are Plectus cirratus (41 %) and Ditylenchus internzedius (22 %). The subdominant species are Wilsonema auriculatum (11 %) and Eudorylaimus carteri (11 %), followed by Mononchus macrostoma (8 %). The 12 % of the species are predacious forms; the 12 % are bryophageous forms; the 28 % are detritophageous forms; and the 48% are saprobiontic forms. Mononchoidea, Dorylaimoidea, Plectoidea and Tylenchoidea are the representative and dominant groups. This note is the first contribution to knowlwdge of muscicole nematodes of Hierro.
