Resum

Growth of chicks of Spotless Starling (Sturnus unicolor Temm.) in North-East Spain
The area, also occupied by Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), was only recently colonized by both species (1970’s). The following variables have been studied: weight, tarsus and wing length. They follow a logistic growth equation and have growth rates (K) of 0.378,0.337 and 0.248 respectively. If compared with the results collected from an old settled area in Salamanca, the fledgelings are larger. The results are also compared with data of European and American populations of Sturnus vulgaris.
