Resum

Evaluation of danlages produced by ringing in Plecotus austriacus Fisher, 1829 (Chiroptera, Vespertilionidae)
A total of 120 Plecotus austriacus have been marked using rings of two different sizes of interna1 0 (models 1X of 2.5 mm and 2X of 3.0 mm), in two colonies from Duero Valley (Castilla, Spain). During two years 51.26% of the individuals were recaptured at least once. There are no differences between the number of recaptured individuals in both colonies, or between males and females, both in adults and in young specimens. Nevertheless, the number of the young specimens recaptured (both sex) is different from that of adults. The 8.2% of the recaptured P. austriacus showed fore-arm andlor patagium damage, being all adults; the number of damaged specimens is similar in both sexes. There are no differences between the numbers of injuries produced by both models of ring. The damages produced by rings do not increase with time, and injuries take place in the first days after the ringing. The number of damages seems to depend on the age, the species and the quality of rings.
