Description of the marine amphipod Hyale spinidactyla Chevreux, 1926 (Crustacea, Amphipod, Gammaridea) in the Basque Country
The species Hyale spinidactya Chevreux. 1926, was recorded in 1992 for the first time on the coast of the lberian peninsula in San Sebastian, Basque Coast, Spain. It is a very little known species and morphological differences can be observed between the Basque specimens and those from the Canary lslands described by Chevreux in 1926. This article presents a detailed description of the specimens from the Basque Coast together with some ecological and biogeographical comments.
