Abstract

Treballs del Museu de Geologia de Barcelona reaches its seventeenth issue starting a new stage that modifies its formal aspect: growing to a DIN A4 format, with text
distributed in two columns and a new layout.

It also changes by imperative reasons: the retirement of Alícia Masriera three years ago and the recent one of Julio Gómez-Alba, director and secretary –respectively–
of Treballs since the beginning, twenty years ago. We, still working in the museum, want to dedicate them this issue, with a true gratitude by their task at the forefront of this
journal. Yael Díaz-Acha, current curator of petrology at MGB, joins the team as editorial secretary.

Although part of the editorial team is renovated, the content’s philosophy doesn’t change. And we make the firm commitment to keep the journal on an open access basis, once all previous issues digitized and totally accessible at RACO’s website.

We also want to thank publicly several things: the confidence of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona assuming the continuity of Treballs; the papers sent by researchers that keep the journal alive; the task of the referees caring for the quality of every paper; the Documentation Center team in charge of its exchange…

Finally, on behalf of all the editorial team, I thank Prof. Dominique Mazau, director of the LECP at Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France), the permission to introduce
the unpublished geological map of the Pedraforca area, originally produced by G. Astre (see paper by Bilotte & Aragonès) and the financial help for its edition.
